Cynthia Thurlow Cruver

Founder and Principal

Cynthia’s 30-year career in branding and advertising spans a multitude of industries, from high-end hospitality with Sunterra Resorts (today named Diamond Resorts) and its 50 worldwide locations to telecommunications, software, banking, nonprofits and medical systems. A partner in general-service agencies THREEam and GCDirect, she catered to clients such as T-Mobile USA, Microsoft, F5 Networks, Boeing Credit Union, Goodwill Industries and Pacific Medical Centers. Also, Cynthia has owned a casual but upscale bistro, Cafe Destino in Bremerton, Washington, where she also originated Bremerton’s first farmers market.

Her broad professional background translates well to the senior living industry, which requires technical expertise with food and beverage, hospitality, communications and creative, all driven forward by a powerful, engaging brand.

Cynthia takes a professional approach that consistently focuses on the positive, builds long-term relationships with clients and achieves success with brilliant creativity. A past president of the Seattle Direct Marketing Association, board committee member of the Puget Sound American Marketing Association, member of ALFA and LeadingAge, Cynthia rounds out her passions with organic gardening, art, cooking and her island home life with her husband and dog, Dr. Pickles.

Scott Daniels

Scott Daniels, CEC, CCA, AAC

Vice President, Culinary Operations

Scott has spent much of his 20+ year career at food services and facilities management company Sodexo, most recently as a District Manager, overseeing 18 retirement/acute/subacute account locations. He is passionate about putting his experience to work helping senior living communities to effectively self-operate—with a focus on training, coaching and fresh, local ingredients.

Scott’s credentials include an associate degree in Occupational Studies from the Culinary Institute of America (with Honors) and Culinary Federation’s Certified Executive Chef appointment in American Culinary. He also earned the Federation’s Certified Culinary Administrator appointment. He is an American Academy of Chefs fellow inductee and a graduate of Sodexo Senior Living “Leadership Academy.”

Scott enjoys organic gardening, providing a home for rescue dogs from all over the world, fishing, his home and, of course, cooking!

Randi Saeter

Randi Saeter, MBA, RD, LNHA

Vice President, Health Services

Randi has served senior living communities for over 20 years in different roles. She emigrated from Norway in the early 1990s as a student and, after earning her Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition and food service management, worked as a Registered Dietitian in long-term care for many years. With her MBA in Healthcare Management in 2005, Randi pursued the education and training to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has worked as an administrator and health services director in post-acute care and senior living, including skilled nursing, assisted living and continuing care retirement communities for the past 12 years.

Randi forges strong relationships with staff, residents and community partners and always seeks to improve systems and continuity of care. She is passionate about person-centered care and strongly believes that a dining services program should be part of the community’s wellness program where healthy, well-balanced meals are presented in a dignified manner. In her free time, Randi enjoys cooking, watching sports and traveling with her family!

Don Warfield

Don Warfield

Vice President, Account Services, and Sales Coach

Don joined 3rdPlus in 2020, bringing 34 years of sales and marketing experience that includes newspaper advertising, pharmaceutical and product distribution. Senior living is his passion: Don recently worked for LCS on the Timber Ridge expansion in Issaquah, Washington, and in Seattle on Transforming Age’s repositioning of the Parkshore community and Skyline’s development of the Olympic Tower.

Don brings his proven track record of success as a sales coach to client communities. Don’s other passions include spending time with family, umpiring baseball, officiating basketball and playing as much golf as possible.

Derek Dujardin

Derek Dujardin

Creative Director and Brand Strategist

Before joining 3rdPlus, Derek developed brands, concepts and messaging for a wide range of clients, including Nike, Starbucks, T-Mobile, Microsoft, F5 and Evergreen Health. He believes, “People buy stories, not products. In a crowded environment with multiple competing narratives, the best story usually wins.”

He knows a little about winning with more than 30 professional awards, ranging from Addys to Tellys, and even an Emmy. Furthermore, Derek is the creator of The MENding Monologues, a theatrical show devoted to ending gender violence. And he also directs an improv comedy troupe in Sedona, Arizona.

Chris Eager

Chris Eager

Director of Hospitality

Chris is a LeadingAge Washington’s Leadership Institute graduate and a dining and hospitality subject matter expert with 30+ years of experience. His restaurant in Belize was named one of the Top 10 Restaurant Experiences in The World by Fodor’s Travel which makes him not only proven at delivering top dining but also working with Spanish-speaking dining teams in the U.S.

After a long career as a restaurateur, he moved to senior living and quickly set himself apart by reducing employee turnover, often by as much as 75%. In addition to reducing turnover, his employee engagement programs empower communities to deliver more than simply dining, adding catering programs and onsite marketing events that add dollars to the bottom line.

A collaborator and a fixer by nature, Chris believes in partnering with the sales and marketing teams to deliver strong census and waitlist.

Diane Strathy

Vice President, Creative Services

Over her 35+ years in the advertising field, Diane worked at Nordstrom, Eddie Bauer and Foundation Design before coming to 3rdPlus in 2010. After years in fashion advertising, she loves making a difference in people’s lives through her work with the 3rdPlus team to modernize branding for seniors and help communities live their mission. Diane enjoys spending time with family, traveling, enjoying nature on the lake and walking with friends.

Elliott Moore

Elliott Moore

Video Producer and Account Services

Elliott is an account executive and video producer based out of Portland, Oregon. She has spent time in television development in Los Angeles and Prague, most recently working for her alma mater, Occidental College. For 3rdPlus, Elliott helps manage organic and paid social media marketing. Her work is driven by her passion for social justice and equity. In her free time, she enjoys travel, creative writing and her labradoodle, Major Dood.

Lina Munford

Digital Director and Web Designer

Before finding her home at 3rdPlus, Lina spent 10 years in a variety of general agencies and worked on a wide range of accounts, including the Shoes & Jewelry Merchandise department at Amazon. Lina enjoys the creative process while applying her organizational and critical thinking skills within the ever-changing digital world. Fitting for a 3rdPlus creative, Lina is a passionate organic gardener, adores cooking and makes a mean strawberry-rhubarb jam. She loves spending time with her family and visiting her homeland every chance she gets.

Cheri Carl

Cheri Carl

Public Relations Director

Cheri is a passionate communications professional with deep skills in public relations, marketing, social media, crisis communications, creative problem solving and project management. She helped grow the Starbucks Coffee brand for 17 years and brings more than 30 years of experience to the team. Cheri manages public relations and social media for 3rdPlus and its senior living community clients. She loves to travel, walk, swim and geocache with her family.

Dr. Kelly Tremblay, PhD

Consultant to 3rdPlus, SparksPlus and Executive Coaching

Dr. Kelly is trained as a neuroscientist and audiologist who specializes in aging and lifelong learning. She’s a retired professor who recently joined 3rdPlus as a consultant, bringing her expertise to the 3rdPlus educational and life-enrichment programs. As a longstanding advocate and educator, Dr. Tremblay serves on many nonprofit committees (for example, the World Health Organization and Hearing Loss Association of America), in addition to mentoring leaders through career and life transitions.

Carol Foltz

Community Coach

Carol Foltz has been an Executive Director of Assisted/ Independent/Memory Support communities for 26 years. Carol loves to help people learn, especially about dementia. For Carol it’s personal. Her dad’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s’ in 2002, changed her focus in senior living. It was so difficult for her older sisters to accept and deal with Dad’s changes. Carol began designing, programming and teaching people strategies for coming alongside loved ones ever since. Working with seniors at all levels has given her leadership style one of making every encounter count. She served for 3 years on the LeadingAge Washington Board and is presently the Chairperson for the Assisted Living Cabinet for LeadingAge Washington.

She is currently an instructor for DSHS education of Dementia, Mental Health, Fundamentals of Caregiving, and 150+ continuing education classes. In addition, she is an instructor for the Assisted Living Academy for LeadingAge Washington, designed to develop future Administrators, LeadingAge Board member, working with RCS and Ombudsman to improve department relations while improving resident experience has been a passion. Currently, Carol is working on new memory support programming for assisted living communities called, The Rhythm of Your Day. In her spare time, Carol enjoys travel, crafts and crocheting.

Dave Foltz

With more than 37 years of management, Dave emphasizes building teams and creating high standards that have set the bar. Dave has been in the management of Assisted Living for 24 years as an Executive Director of both large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Last year he was recognized as Administrator of the year for WASAAP (Washington State Association of Activity Professinals). He has served in leadership roles of Nor-Alfa as a board member, Washington Adult Day Services Association as President and LeadingAge Washington where he presently serves on the board. He has been a coach for the LeadingAge Washington Leadership Institute for 4 years.

He is currently an instructor for DSHS education of Dementia, Mental Health, Fundamentals of Caregiving, and 150+ continuing education classes. In addition, he is an instructor on the Assisted Living Academy for LeadingAge Washington designed to develop future Administrators. In his spare time Dave enjoys traveling, and photography.
